I'm inclined to agree BUT I have seen an emerged female Lymantriinae on her cocoon in a needle leafed plant looking like this. In leafy plants they wrap the cocoon in the leaves. Maybe all the webbing provides protection the leaves would. I can 'see' (vivid imagination?) the 'toothbrush' many Lymantriinae larvae have on their backs in the 1st shot.
I think you will have to set up camp and stake it out until it hatches/emerges! (joke!)
